My Dad is my world! In Feb.2011 he was diagnosed with Lung Cancer, over the next 6 months we fought like hell!! Sadly on August 14, 2011 Daddy earned his wings. His diagnosis & loss crumbled the foundation of my very soul. We'd spent every waking moment together for 6 months, laughing, crying, talking, screaming .. Lung Cancer changed me, though there were some truly awful times ...there were also beautiful and unforgettable times. I got to truly know my Daddy on a level I might never have, I found strength I didn't know I had, I found passion inside I had no idea was there ...all because this amazing, courageous man!
And through the ashes of my loss was born, Phil's Sweet Hope Cookie Shoppe! In living through LC, I witnessed first hand how families struggle everyday to make ends meet. I knew I had to do something, I couldn't let them feel as they were all alone. So, through my love of baking & with my passion for those affected by LC..I decided to do something! A portion of my proceeds go directly into a fund I've created, "Phil's Hope", this fund provides financial assistance to Lung Cancer patients and their families. For whatever they may need, a giftcard is sent to them to use in whatever way they like..from filling a prescription, getting groceries, new clothes..anything! I wanted to put the power back in their hands, so much of which has been taken away from them by this unforgiving disease! I want them to know, they do matter!
